KakaKaka, the Brazilian midfielder, born 22 April 1982, is considered by many in the footballing world to be the complete package when it comes to football. Throughout his youth years, Kaka stood out from the other players and the first club to secure his services was Sao Paulo where by 2001 he was taking a starring role in the starting 11. By 2002 Kaka’s soccer performances were attracting interest from several European clubs. The interest in him steadily grew culminating in him signing for the Italian giants, AC Milan in 2003. In his first season with the Milan club he scored 10 goals in 30 appearances, helping them to win the Scudeto and the Uefa Super Cup.

After playing a few seasons at AC Milan slightly in the shadow of his team mate Andriy Schevchenko, Kaka got his chance to become the focal point of the team in 2006 when Schevchenko left to play for Chelsea in the English Premier League. In the 2006-07 season Kaka finished as the top scorer in the Champions League with 10 goals. Kaka won the Champions League trophy for the first time in his career with AC Milan when they beat Liverpool in the 2007 final.

In January 2009 it was reported that Manchester City had made a bid of over £100 million to secure the services of Kaka. Despite Milan and Manchester City discussing the possibility of a deal for Kaka it never materialised much to the delight of the AC Milan fans whi had been protesting at the possibility that their star player could be leaving the club.

Despite Kaka’s outspoken willingness to stay at AC Milan, a club that he now loved dearly, in June 2009 after a reported offer of €68.5 million for Kaka from Real Madrid it was confirmed that Kaka would move to the Bernabeu on a six-year deal. Kaka scored his first official goal for his new club, Real Madrid, in week five of La Liga season against Villareal from the penalty spot. Despite the new 2010-11 season looming on the horizon Kaka will miss the start of the new season and is likely to face up to 4 months on the sidelines due to a knee operation which he underwent over the summer.
